Opposite this Main Entrance is Arundel Museum
where you will get a Discounted Ticket price
If you present your Arundel Castle Ticket.

A MAGNIFICENT Arundel Castle greets you at the MAIN ENTRANCE.
The path to your right leads you to the WATER GARDENS
which is just right next to the castle.

An ENGLISH Garden won’t be complete without a ROSE of course.

Arundel Castle is currently owned by the DUKE OF NORFOLK. They have always owned it anyway.

Just stop and take in the GRANDEUR of this MEDIEVAL BEAUTY for a minute.
It’s HISTORY dates back to 1067.
We are now in 2021.

Okay before we head to the Gardens & Castle, let’s take a short detour to the peaceful WATER GARDENS.

WATER GARDEN

We have created a conservation Area

in which native water plants, Wildflowers, birds, and insects

can flourish naturally.

These historic water ponds are the original Monastic Stew Ponds

that produced fish for the priory and Arundel Castle Kitchens.

This BOARDWALK conjures up in me an image of a MONK in DEEP MEDITATION.

The sloping side is the Left Side of the Castle.

DUCKS would look more natural in these ponds
but hey SWANS are usually placed in ponds or lakes for AESTHETICS.

This HUT is so ZEN…

A BOATHOUSE adds a POINT OF INTEREST in this WATER GARDEN.

Look at the scale of these leaves. They look like giant Rhubarbs.

We have now finished our Short Tour of the WATER GARDENS.
We are now heading to the FORMAL GARDENS,
but that would be in the next blog post.

This is the HIGH STREET LODGE
one of the few EXIT POINTS from the CASTLE GROUNDS.
If you have started your tour from the MAIN ENTRANCE,
you will pass by this on your way to the FORMAL GARDENS
which is located in the LEFT CORNER of the PROPERTY on top of the HILL.

We shall enter the CASTLE and the KEEP
after we have visited the FORMAL GARDENS.
