He was also the former
Italian Mid Heavyweight champion.
 
 
BARRY BRIGGS
Speedway Champion
who was recently second in the
Daily Express Spring Classic at Wimbledon
and also second in last weekend’s
Long track event in Italy.
 
TIBOR SZACACS
Five times the winner of
Royal Albert Hall Wrestling Tournament Trophy.
 
BOBBY BARNES
Better known as 
‘Beautiful Bobby Barnes’,
the ‘Peacock of Wrestling’.
  
JOHN HALL
A former amateur wrestler
who recently toured Kenya.
 
PETER SHEARING
He is now the Charlton Athletic trainer.
Previously a goalkeeper who played for
Gillingham Footbal Club.
 
LES BERRY
Charlton Athletics centre half
who recently had an unfortunate road accident.
This is one of his first games
since the accident.
 
ALAN HART
The promising Charlton Athletics centre forward
who has scored 2 goals in his three outings
with their first team.

CPL MICHAEL DOIG
Midfield
Captain of the Corps side for 2 seasons.
He has represented the Corps on 24 occasions
and has played for the Army several times
during the last 3 years.
 
WO2 GEORGE PRENTICE
Midfield
Represented the Corps from
1963-65 and 1968-69 on 10 occasions.
He began his football career with extremely
successful Thornton Hibernians,
a Scottish Junior side,
whom he captained
on the occasion of their
Junior Cup win.
 
SGT RODNEY BOOK
Midfield
Played for the Corps on 5 occasions
between 1967- 68.
He was also selected for the
Army Team in 1971.
His brother is Tony Book
manager of Manchester City.
 
SSGT DAVID JOHNSON
A Regular member of the Army side
between 1963 and 1968,
and also played in an FA Youth XI.
He captained the Royal Engineer side
for 3 years.
 
CAPT BILL JAMIESON
Centre Forward
Began his football career in the
Highland League with Deveron Vale.
He is now the Corps Football Secretary.
   
LT COL GORDON CHAVE
Midfield
He is now Chairman of
Royal Engineers football
and a previous Secretary.
 
LCPLs ANTHONY SCREEN
AND GARRY CORNIN
Front Runners
They are both accomplished young players
who have gained early recognition.
They played for the Army junior side
before joining man service
and have played for the Corps team
for the last 2 1/2 seasons.
