NORWICH CATHEDRAL

This Cathedral which is still in plan and structure
the Norman pile erected by
Bishop Herbert de Losinga in 1096,
is second only to Westminster Abbey
in the perfect proportions
of its nave and presbytery.
It was injured by fire in 1272
and restored in 1278,
its present spire was built in 1369
and the last additions to its beauty
were the work of Bishop Nix (1501- 1536).
The flying buttresses shown were the addition
of Bishop Goldwell.
