Today, 26th February 2020- ASH WEDNESDAY marks the start of Penitence and Repentance for the Christian world as we enter the Lenten Season. The season invites us to draw closer to our creator by means of meditation & devotional so you have visions of quiet contemplation. Books, nature, and quiet time can help you enter in that state. The season will culminate on the celebration of Easter Sunday on the 12th of April 2020. The thought of it looms heavy in the mind. Though we should still practice abstinence from all things luxurious, rich, or indulgent, let us not starve ourselves of the simple beauty that is everpresent in nature and our surroundings.

This post aims to capture to simple pleasures from living a simple life. Having said that, it will naturally be an ongoing work as we update this post all throughout springtime.

Have a blessed & thoughtful Lenten Season & Springtime everyone!

Though its not yet officially springtime in the astronomical calendars (vernal equinox March 20,2020) , the appearance of snowdrops, crocuses, and daffodils signify that the winter season is on its way out. These little beauties are such a joy to behold. Their presence is enough to give you the promise that beautiful sunny days are just around the corner.

Walking around the English countryside and even in parks in London can be an exercise of spotting these tiny beauties and capturing their shortlived presence on camera. They also remind us that though life can be beautiful, it can be short & fleeting so make the best use of it according to your divine purpose.

This is a beautiful silhouette of wintry objects as contrasted against a gentle blue sky. It’s like the struggle between darkness and light. In the end, light always wins. Nature can teach us alot about our life here on earth.

When the imagination is very active, I just can’t help but weave a connection between these two beautiful objects: the Lucky Chinese Lantern and the beautiful Italian Landscape painting. Both countries are high on our travel destinations but with the corona virus breaking record levels, these two countries are currently a no go zone for most of us. What a pity. Bless all of them. We can only pray for healing for the world…

Simple objects like these flower vases suddenly come back to life again as the sun illuminates their beauty. We don’t need luxury to enjoy life. Sometimes we are drowning in so much stuff that we forget to admire the simple things in life. When you aim for a ZEN lifestyle, everything just suddenly seem to have value in your world. The morning sunshine, the warmth of the rays, what a glorious gift it is to be alive indeed.

Beautiful daffodils are slowly adding colours to the landscape. These seeds were sprinkled last spring/summer. They are usually the first ones to appear when springtime rolls around, along with snowdrops and crocuses.

These dainty little yellow crocuses are standout beauties in a tired-looking garden pot that’s been neglected in the garden all winter long. Life is the same, you can expect beautiful things to come out of ugly places. The joy of life is to live one day at a time always looking at the brighter side of life. If you are to plan out everything until you can put your feet up and let down your guard, you will never be happy in life. Do your best and leave some things to God. Some of the things you worry about are the business of God, not yours!

HELLO SUNSHINE!

All work & no play makes a dull life. PLAY is as important as WORK. YIN & YANG is essential for a thoughtful life. Never lose your child-like curiosity. #workhard #playhard

This is a work in progress so will be adding more photos throughout Springtime. Have a blessed one!

Thank You...
