Danny Trevanion is a dedicated vet with a passion for animals. His 18-year-old daughter, Rosie,
is still grieving and angry about the death of her mother.
She is resentful that her father is now remarried to Sarah,
a divorcee with two young children-
Olivia and Evan.
When Danny brings home an illegally smuggled monkey
whose life he has saved,
Sarah decides they should all go to Africa to return the monkey
to its natural habitat.
She hopes that a family holiday surrounded by exotic wildlife
and stunning scenery will bring them closer together.
The holiday becomes a permanent adventure,
stretching Danny’s veterinary skills
and presenting life-changing opportunities for the whole Trevanion family.

It’s over a year since Trevanion family left England
and settled into life in Africa.
But living the dream isn’t all plain sailing
as Danny and Sarah struggle with the demands of animals and guests.
Unexpected challenges arise when the neighbouring game park is taken over
by an ambitious manager,
an orphaned baby elephant ends up on their doorstep
and the arrival of old friends and relatives cause friction in the family.
They all have to contend with jealousy,
tragedy and unrequited love
while dealing with wounded cheetahs, aggressive hippos,
one winged vulture and angry lions.
But the biggest threat to the family’s survival comes
when Danny and Du Plessis are involved in a tragic accident.
Will the Trevanions have to return to England after all?

Life at Leopard’s Den is fraught, challenging, exciting,
