Dear All, 

Flight left on time bit was rather bumpy.

Coach trip was mostly at night

And I was glad while darkness lasted as the overtaking 

On hairpin bends was a bit nasty.

Accommodation very basic as expected.

Village is very ? & tomorrow we are going on around

The island trip.

Tuesday we are going to a Greek evening &

Hope to smash a few plates.

Apart from this we just seem to be sleeping,

Though Derick has finished a book – a real book.

Hope you got home safely.

Dear Eileen & Ivor,

We are having a wonderful holiday,

Everything is perfect,

Weather is very hot.

We are staying in the hotel on the card

And it could not be better, 

The food is very good.

We had a day trip on a schooner

And had lunch anchored in a small bay.

We have also had two half-day sightseeing trips.

Irene, Bob, Gary & Kim

In the first place we wanted to go to Spetse,

But when we got to the harbour in Athens,

We had just missed the ferry,

So not wishing to hang around for hours

For the next one found a ferry

Which was going to another island – Kithnos

And was leaving promptly.

When we got to the island it was very small

And had nothing to offer tourists.

Alot of other people had obviously 

Done the same as us

And when the ferry back to Athens arrived

Just about the whole island left.

Otherwise having a good time.

Found better than I expected.

Having plenty of warmth & sunshine

& good food & most of all enjoyable time.

We are going through part of this Samaria Gorge on Monday,

But what they call “The Lazy Way”

Must have a get-together soon after I’m home.

Very good journey & having a super holiday.

Rhodes is a beautiful island

With a climate of sunshine & cool breezes

That is suiting us all fine.

Went up here today to Acropolis.

Now back at hotel for tea & rest before dinner.

Dear Eileen & Ivor,

Having a lovely time.

Our hotel is right on the beach about two miles from Elounda.

The scenery is breathtaking

And the car rides – hair-raising.

The sea ideal for swimming.

We have visited a few places including a Minoan Palace (ruins of course)

Built 6000 B.C.

The island is steeped in history.
