Beloved Ones!
 
Can it be nearly two years since I last saw you?
Yes it can but it wont be much longer because Bhagwan buzzed off to the USA and the Ashram in Poona has closed down and we’ve all been sent home. Oh dear, so much for my idea of a peaceful early retirement sweeping the leaves in the ashram garden. Well it never was like that anyway and now Im really getting into the idea that Bhagwan like Gourdjieff will always keep creating devices to wake us up.
 
The letter I wrote to all merry England in May is now a bit of an historic document since it records a bygone era and so much has changed for me personally too. After my hepatitis (still feeling very wobbly and vulberable) first Prashanto left me, then Bhagwan, then the Ashram! It was an amazing experience of having all my childish dependencies opened up one by one until I was entirely freaked out but at the same time really opened up to everyday existence- which in the ashram at least was very beautiful. But I wasnt really in the space to between to the wild and wonderful wooful West. So I came here to Kashmir to do a 3 month retreat looking at my samis and its conditioning and trying to get out of the old movie and into the here and now. Well it all sounds a bit s? doesnt it but you have to see it here to see how beautiful it is. Kashmir is one of God’s gardens overflowing with rivers, lakes, canals, fruits, vegetables, tree and surrounded by wild mountains with bears, goats, leopards, snakes, pine forests and snowy tops. Im getting up at 5 o’clock everyday for meditation, eating raw fruits, grains, and vegetables and swimming in the lake to get clean. Already I feel together in the body and the mind is gradually getting the message!
 
But enough of this. The point of this boring letter is really to tell you that I shall be back in the UK before Christmas maybe early November and indefinitely intending to come and sup with you a pint or two.(Another reason I did not want to come back sooner is that I cant drive until 6 months after the hip? which would have created an awful barrier between me and friends ? soon to live in their local pub).
 
So I finally got to writing to you after meaning to for more than a year. And I wonder how you are? If you need to tell me anything like youre not where you were anymore or who you were or Fuck off ugly, write and let me know. Im at this address until the second half of October, otherwise expect the usual 10 minutes notice of my arrival sometime between then and Christmas. 
 
When I see what Im writing I see Im still a suitable case for treatment- obviously in need of a long relaxing spell on the dole in Thatcherland to get in touch with the ultimate truth (the price of a pint etc.)
 
Anyway Im now looking forward to seeing you and other features of the old country.
