FROM THE POSTCARD
SATURDAY 20th May 1978
Dear Mother,
Well the weather is still glorious.
We went on a 1/2 day excursion this morning.
Visited a museum, then this palace, which is now a casino.
The picture on the right was painted by an Italian painter on the ceiling & represents the 4 seasons.
It took him 4 1/2 years to paint.
Can you imagine doing all that with your head bent back.
Bad enough painting on ordinary ceiling.
Tomorrow we go on a full day trip round the island.
Had a boat trip the other afternoon.
When we came in today we had 2 little pots with slits in for money standing on the side with a card,
saying with the compliments of the management.
They are replicas of old tombs.
They used to put 2 bodies in each!
Have a lovely holiday!
Bye for now
Love,
Ivor & Eileen
