THOUGHT FOR THE DAY
by KATHLEEN PARTRIDGE
OUR ENGLAND
What does your Country mean to you?
A keepsake old yet ever new,
A street with a familiar bend,
A certain place, a certain friend.
Unique tradition of its kind,
What thought is foremost in your mind?
What does England mean to those
Far off when day is at a close?
When memories surge high and glad
And thoughts of home are sweet but sad.
Fond faces and a far off scene;
To them how much must England mean.
