Plan Your Visit to Arundel Castle,

The Norman Keep, and Arundel Castle Gardens:

ROSE GARDEN

ARUNDEL CASTLE AS SEEN FROM THE ROSE GARDEN
PRETTY & DELICATE ROSES

PRETTY IN PINK ISN’T SHE…

From the ROSE GARDEN,

you may decide to visit the CASTLE first or perhaps the formal gardens.

For us, we have opted to visit the Formal Gardens first

because the weather might turn anytime,

which is not surprising.

Another reason you might consider the FORMAL GARDENS first

is that you can rest and have something to eat in the CASTLE CAFE

afterwards before continuing your tour of the Castle.

There is a lot to see inside we promise.

FORMAL GARDENS

That is The Fitzchalan Chapel in the background,
also located within the Estate.

The pillars are made of wood by the way.
You could easily pass them for stone structures.

This structure reminds me of the OLD NORMAN LORDS in GAME OF THRONES.

A Wooden Bench.
You thought it was stone or concrete, didn’t you?

A LOVERS’ WALK?
There is a bigger version of this in HAMPTON COURT.
Feels like SUB-TROPICAL in here.
Are we in the MEDITERRANEAN or what?
The FITZALAN CHAPEL serves as a MAJESTIC backdrop for these garden photos.
It’s just a shame we didn’t get to visit inside
because we were beating the closing time which was 5pm.
Welcome to Sub-tropical PARADISE.
OXEYE DAISIES?
I’m no gardener,
just somebody who appreciates the beauty in everything.
So LUSH!
Reminds me of the MEDITERRANEAN.

A concealed entrance to the FLOATING/FLYING CROWN.
Lush ferns

I just love how the plants occupy the planter so gracefully.
Thanks to the Estate GARDENERS.
The FLOATING / FLYING CROWN made to rise mid-air
due to the pressure of the water coming from below.

The SKY is grey today but temperatures are still on the warm side: 17- 20 degrees Celsius.

WILD BEAUTY: Cultivated of course.
TOPIARY juxtaposed with WILD Style,
works like MAGIC.
This wall is the dividing wall between the GARDEN and Fitzalan Chapel.
This part of the garden reminds us of PRINCE CHARLES’ garden at HIGHGROVE HOUSE:
“The garden at Highgrove embodies The Prince’s environmental philosophy:
that it is better to work with Nature than against it.”

A Hypnotising WATER FEATURE.

A window to the wilderness.
PRETTY IN PINK.
An ENGLISH GARDEN is not complete without a ROSE.
These flowers are DIVINE.
Can’t resist touching them.
COTTAGE GARDEN Vibe.
I love the NON-FORMAL Aesthetics.
Something so ZEN with letting NATURE show its beauty.

Just realised that actually a BEAUTIFUL GARDEN beside a CHAPEL serves a purpose
to MEDITATE before and after a service.
MEDITATING ON LIFE.
We are but flowers on this earth, one moment blooming,
the next moment fading away.
One thing remains, our eternal place awaits.
So BLOOM well and add beauty to the world while you’re in it.
Apple Tree, more like a vine now really.

APPLES are so tempting while still on the tree.

I’m so in love with this planter.
FLOWERS don’t talk but hey this looks like a bustling MARKETPLACE.
Talk about The LANGUAGE of FLOWERS.
GREENHOUSE . If you enjoy GREENHOUSE TOURS,
we recommend you visit ROYAL BOTANIC KEW GARDENS in RICHMOND
and EDEN PROJECT in CORNWALL.
JUICY TOMATOES are so good for SALADS

These grapes are so tempting
PEACH COLOURED ROSE
We have now finished the GARDEN TOUR
we are now heading towards the KEEP and the CASTLE.
Watch out for links.
